The Big Four Ice Caves are a unique destination in the state of Washington.
This remarkable landscape lies near the town of Granite Falls, WA, less than 2 hours from Seattle.
The caves regrow every winter and then melt and shrink back in size every summer. Because of their ever changing nature, it is dangerous to enter the caves as ice could fall at any time.
Despite the dangers, a trip inside the ice caves is an incredible experience. The cold temperatures inside and the dripping water of the melting ice in the summer adds to the experience of it all.
The hike to and around the ice caves is also quite beautiful so if you find yourself in the Seattle area, the Big Four Ice Caves are definitely worth a visit.
